As a professional technical writer, you will create clear, concise, and accurate documentation for Kopernikus' products and processes (also in regard to safety). You will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between our technical experts and non-technical users, both customer/partners and users of our system.
Overview of main tasks:
-
Create and maintain customer and partner documentation.
-
Develop various training materials and deliver training.
-
Create and consistently update QM and safety documentation.
Your responsibilities in detail:
-
Research and gather technical information: You conduct thorough research to gather in-depth knowledge of the products, processes, or procedures you are documenting. This involves studying the subject matter, consulting with our technical experts, and reviewing our existing (however limited) documentation, mostly in Confluence pages.
-
Develop and organize documentation: Based on the gathered information, you are able to create comprehensive and well-structured documentation. This includes user manuals, training materials, reference guides, and technical specifications as well as documentation required by Safety and QM.
-
Write clear and concise content: You have a knack for simplifying complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand language. You can tailor your writing style to suit the target audience, using appropriate terminology and visuals (!).
-
Collaborate with technical experts: You are able to work closely with engineers, developers, and other technical professionals to ensure that your documentation accurately reflects the product or process being documented. You actively seek feedback and incorporate it into your work.
-
Maintain and update documentation: Technical documentation needs to be kept up to date as products evolve and technologies change. You are responsible for reviewing and updating existing documentation to ensure its accuracy and relevance.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
-
Strong written and communication skills: You must be able to convey complex information clearly and concisely, using appropriate language and terminology for your respective target audience.
-
Understanding of technical concepts: While you do not necessarily need to be a technical expert yourself, you should have a solid understanding of the technical concepts you are documenting. This enables you to accurately interpret and explain technical information.
-
Ability to organize information logically: You must be able to organize complex information into a logical and structured format, making it easy for users to find the information they need.
-
Attention to detail: Technical documentation must be accurate and error-free. You possess a keen eye for detail and are meticulous in your work.
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team: You will often work independently, but you also need to be able to collaborate with our technical experts and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of your documentation.
-
Fluency in English, very good German skills are a plus: Your target language with respect to the documentation is English, in which you need to be fluent at near native speaker level. However, there may be the need for some brief German documentation for some of our customers - thus very good German skills are considered an asset.
What we offer:
